City of Atlanta Amends Code Regulating Judicial Proceedings For Owners of Multi-Family Properties
January 25, 2024
Recently, the City of Atlanta adopted code changes regulating the Judicial Proceedings for owners of certain multiple dwelling units, such as apartments, multi-family dwellings, etc. These changes impact owners with at least five violations of the city code simultaneously.
These changes reduce the civil fines associated with violations but add the possibility of imprisonment for persons other than corporate entities. The amount of the fine that may be imposed differs based on whether or not the violation has been brought into compliance.
